Kalimotxo is a fun cocktail that originated in the Basque Country of Spain in the 1970s. Legend has it that young people, in search of a cheap and easy-to-prepare drink, mixed red wine and cola to create this simple but effective drink. Although the origin of the name is not entirely clear, the word "kalimotxo" is used in Basque to describe something fun and unusual. Kalimotxo has gained a reputation not only for its simplicity, but also for offering a social and relaxing drink. It has become a timeless classic, favored at summer festivals and gatherings of friends.
