COCKTAIL RECIPE
Sidecar
Sidecar is one of the most famous classic cocktails made with cognac, orange liqueur and fresh lemon juice. Thanks to the balance of sweet and sour flavors, it is both strong and refreshing. It is considered one of the cornerstones of citrus classics in the cocktail world.
The Sidecar cocktail is one of the most famous classic cocktails that originated in the early 20th century. There are two different stories about the origin of the cocktail, both dating back to the First World War. According to the most common story, the cocktail was created by a bartender at a bar in Paris. Every day an officer would come to the bar with a sidecar, the sidecar next to his motorcycle, and this drink was prepared for him. Hence the name of the cocktail.
According to another view, the drink was created in the famous Buck's Club in London. At the time, bars in Europe had become important centers of post-war social life. Citrusy and fresh cocktails were especially popular among aristocratic circles and travelers. Sidecar quickly gained a reputation as one of the elegant yet powerful drinks of this period.
