Saturn

The Saturn cocktail is one of the most interesting and original recipes of tiki cocktail culture. It originated in 1967 at the International Bartenders Association World Cocktail Championships in California. In the competition, young bartender J. "Popo" Galsini won first place by preparing a gin-based tropical cocktail. At the time, most tiki cocktails were made with rum, so the use of gin was quite unusual.

This recipe created by Galsini combined the vibrant aromas of tropical fruits with the botanical character of gin. The tropical sweetness of passion fruit syrup, the freshness of lemon juice and the spicy notes of falernum created a balanced structure. Orgeat gave the cocktail a light almond flavor and a smooth texture.
