COCKTAIL RECIPE
Vampiro
Vampiro is a characterful Mexican cocktail made with tequila, citrus juices and spicy sauces. The balance of sour, slightly bitter and spicy flavors makes for a lively and powerful drink.
The Vampiro cocktail is one of the traditional tequila drinks that originated in the Jalisco region of Mexico. It is especially popular in and around the town of Tequila, known as the birthplace of tequila.
The origin of the cocktail dates back to the 1960s. According to legend, Oscar HernΓ‘ndez, a local juice seller, wanted to create a fresh but spicy drink that could be mixed with tequila. This drink, which he prepared by combining orange juice, lime juice and spicy sauces, soon began to be made in bars in the neighborhood.

The name of the cocktail, "Vampiro", meaning "vampire", comes from the reddish color of the drink. The use of tomato juice or sangrita gives the cocktail this deep red hue. In addition, the spicy character of the drink is in keeping with the strong name.
