The Scorpion cocktail is one of the exotic drinks that emerged early in tiki bar culture. Popularized in America in the 1930s and 1940s, tiki bars were known for their tropical-themed decorations and strong rum cocktails. Scorpion is considered one of the remarkable recipes created during this period.

The cocktail has gained notoriety for being on the menus of tiki bar pioneers such as Don the Beachcomber and Trader Vic. This drink is usually prepared in a large bowl instead of a single serving and shared by several people. This reflects the social and fun atmosphere of tiki bar culture.

“Sometimes the most powerful experiences are created to be shared.”

Scorpion's character is determined by the strong aroma of rum and the refreshing effect of citrus. Orgeat syrup complements the tropical character by adding a light almond flavor. Today, the Scorpion is still considered one of the best known and most fun tiki cocktails.
