The Lemon Drop cocktail has its origins in the bar culture of San Francisco in the 1970s. It first appeared as the Lemon Drop Martini.
This cocktail was inspired by the lemon drop candy popular in America. By transferring the balance of sweet and sour into the drink, the cocktail quickly became popular.
