Created in 1957 by Harry Yee, the head bartender at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki, this cocktail was designed to showcase the vibrant color of Blue Curaçao. It quickly became the signature drink of the island paradise, capturing the essence of the Pacific Ocean in a glass. While it shares a name with the 'Blue Hawaii', the inclusion of coconut cream distinguishes the 'Blue Hawaiian' as a decadent, tropical indulgence that defined the tiki era of the late 50s.
