What is a Cobbler Shaker?
The Cobbler shaker is a three-piece shaker for cocktail making and is the most common choice, especially among home users and beginners. It consists of three parts: the bottom metal container (body), the middle lid with built-in strainer and the small lid on top (closing cap). Thanks to this integrated structure, it can be served directly without the use of an extra strainer.
Easy to use and practical, it is ideal for beginners who are just starting to prepare cocktails. The snug fit of its parts reduces the risk of leakage. However, due to its metal structure, it can cool and get stuck during shaking and become difficult to open. For this reason, the Boston shaker is generally preferred in professional bars, while the Cobbler shaker is more popular for individual use.
How to use it?
When using a cobbler shaker, first add the beverage ingredients to the bottom body. Then ice is added and the middle lid with strainer is put into place. Close the top small lid and close the shaker completely. Then hold the shaker with both hands and shake for about 10-15 seconds.
Once the shaking is complete, the small top lid is removed and the beverage is poured directly into the glass through the built-in strainer. If the lid is stuck, it is necessary to open it by tapping gently on the side. With proper use, it provides a very practical and clean service.
